4C Group Careers Fair – A New Approach

4C Group embarks on its First Careers Fair – building connections and showcasing hospitality opportunities in a new way.

In collaboration with higher education colleges, charity partners and like-minded businesses, 4C Group held its first Careers Fair. Hosted at Westin London City, the fair with the tagline Explore. Connect. Network, was an opportunity to build and strengthen relationships within the communities 4C Group operate in. Working together with recruiters, educational providers and businesses the fair provided opportunities for both current employees and prospective employees to invest in their career journey.

A unique feature of the fair was its tailored sessions to both current and prospective employees, focusing specifically on job roles within hospitality and career progression within the field. Through engaging panel discussions and workshops, valuable insights into the skills and experiences sought after in the industry were shared. Organisations like Umbrella Training, provided information on the apprenticeships and courses available whilst the groups hotels which include Holiday Inn London Camden Lock and Canopy by Hilton London City walked through ‘Day in the Life Sessions’ of various roles and hotels.

Some of the examples included a day in the life of a Food and Beverage Assistant and Front of House Assistant and interviews with team members on what it was like working in these departments. Examples of the deeper dive sessions included “The Importance of Revenue Management in Hospitality” and “The Importance and challenges of ESG within Hospitality”.

Prospective employees were encouraged to apply for current roles and drop off their CV via an online CV bank.

It was refreshing to see individuals engaging with the sessions, and focus not just on the job opportunities available but also on opportunities to engage in the charitable side of 4C Group, working with charity partners like CareFree and Learning Disability Network London the group finds ways to give back, acquire new skills and support others.

Another highlight of the fair was the insightful Q&A session delivered by Lord Elliott of Mickle Fell, President of the Jobs Foundation, showcasing how businesses can be recognised as a force for good.
