4C Group Joins Industry Leaders at Waste Net Zero Conference 2026
3 July 2026
On 2 July 2026, 4C Group was delighted to attend the Waste Net Zero Conference 2026, held at the iconic County Hall in London. The event brought together leading organisations from across the waste, packaging and sustainability sectors to explore practical solutions for achieving the UK’s net zero and circular economy ambitions.
Industry leaders shared valuable insights on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of resource management. The opening panel, moderated by Carla Brian of Biffa, examined how the UK’s circular economy ambitions can be translated into practical, large-scale delivery.

Throughout the day, delegates explored some of the sector’s most pressing issues, including:
Funding the transition to a circular economy through Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), government support and private investment.
The increasing cost and complexity of managing residual waste.
Ending edible food waste through greater collaboration and redistribution.
Unlocking innovation for circularity by combining advances in design, policy, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, data and material traceability.
Preparing for the expansion of the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and addressing the carbon impact of hard-to-recycle materials.
A recurring theme throughout the conference was the need to move beyond individual sustainability initiatives and towards an integrated circular system that delivers measurable impact at scale. Speakers emphasised that achieving meaningful progress will require collaboration across government, industry, producers, waste management organisations and the wider supply chain.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for customers, industry experts and policymakers to exchange ideas, share best practice and discuss the practical actions needed to accelerate progress towards a more sustainable future.

Events such as Waste Net Zero demonstrate the importance of partnership, innovation and collective action in addressing today’s environmental challenges. At 4C Group, we remain committed to supporting our customers and partners as the industry continues its transition towards a low-carbon, circular economy. We would like to thank Biffa and all the speakers and organisers for delivering an insightful and engaging event, and we look forward to continuing the conversations that will help shape the future of waste management and sustainability.
