Braving the Cold, Raising Hope: Peadar McFadden Joins CEO Sleepout to Highlight Homelessness and Raise Funds

8 December 2025

The CEO Sleepout is a remarkable fundraising initiative that brings together business leaders, executives, and changemakers for one night spent sleeping outdoors in solidarity with people experiencing homelessness. This year, the event took place at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, where participants braved a bitter 1°C night in the final week of November 2025.

Among those taking part was Peadar McFadden, General Manager of Canopy London City, who raised more than £4,000 – a figure that continues to grow. His participation, along with that of fellow business leaders, aimed to shine a light on the rising crisis of homelessness while generating essential funds that will support vulnerable people throughout the winter season.

During the event, participants slept outside with nothing more than a sleeping bag, symbolising the harsh reality faced by thousands across the capital. Peadar described the experience as deeply moving, stating: “I came away humbled and shivering, but warmed through by the stories and messages – and overwhelmed with gratitude that, together, on behalf of Canopy & 4C Group, we raised over £4,000 for Providence Row.”

Funds raised from the CEO Sleepout will help Providence Row create warm, safe spaces for those with nowhere else to go. Contributions will support the charity in serving over 11,000 hot meals, delivering therapeutic and wellbeing services, providing expert advice on housing, benefits, healthcare, and safeguarding, and offering pathways into stability, training, employment, and long-term recovery. The support is especially vital during the winter months, when demand surges, and risks increase for those without secure housing.

Homelessness in London has reached unprecedented levels. Nearly 13,165 people slept rough in the city last year—the highest figure on record. Many are living with complex combinations of mental health challenges, physical health issues, and substance misuse difficulties. Tragically, someone dies homeless in the UK every 5½ hours, underscoring the urgency of sustained action and support.

Providence Row, one of East London’s leading homelessness charities, continues to face overwhelming demand for its services. The funds raised through initiatives like the CEO Sleepout allow the organisation to remain a vital lifeline for those in crisis.

To support the CEO Sleepout, the team at Canopy London City undertook an impressive 12-hour Peloton Challenge, cycling non-stop to raise additional funds for Providence Row and CEO Sleepout UK. Their dedication and energy embodied the spirit of collective action, with every mile cycled and every donation offering renewed hope to those most in need.

4C Group, together with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Aldgate Connect BID, is a proud supporter of Providence Row. The charity serves as a crucial safety net for vulnerable individuals, offering hot meals, healthcare, therapeutic services, and essential pathways to secure housing and employment.

We remain committed to partnering with organisations that drive meaningful social impact and strengthen the communities they serve. The success of the CEO Sleepout 2025 and associated fundraising efforts highlights what can be achieved when businesses, teams, and communities unite with purpose and compassion.
