Celebrating Stories: Lucyna Turkosz Shares Her Hospitality Journey at the Festival of Hospitality’s MYstorySLAM

At the heart of the Festival of Hospitality 2025, stories took centre stage on 11 June during the inspiring MYstorySLAM- an evening dedicated to celebrating the people behind the profession. With the theme of ‘value’ running through the festival, hospitality professionals from across the sector came together to share the defining moments in their careers that helped them understand their true value and the unique contributions they bring to the industry.
We are delighted to be an official partner of the Festival of Hospitality 2025, and very proud of our talented team member, Lucyna Turkosz, Room Division Manager at Canopy by Hilton London City, who was among the selected speakers at this special event. Lucyna joined nine other remarkable individuals from the industry to share a single, meaningful moment that shaped her journey in hospitality. No script, no rehearsals – just raw, genuine moments that offered a glimpse into Lucyna’s journey.
Lucyna spoke candidly about how she found her way into the sector, the challenges she’s overcome, and the pivotal moments that have brought her to where she is today. From moments of risk and resilience to identity and opportunity, her story, like those of the others, was a powerful reflection of what it means to find purpose, passion and value in one’s work.
It was an uplifting evening — a blend of inspiring storytelling, genuine connection and plenty of laughter, thanks to the event’s fantastic host Michelle Moreno, who reminded us that hospitality is, at its core, about people and connection.
The key themes that emerged from the night were simple yet powerful: They underscored the importance of storytelling as a tool for building understanding, recognising talent, and celebrating the individuals who truly shape the heart of our industry.
