Empowering Minds, Changing Lives: 4C Group Supports Refugee Education Through the DAFI Program
20 June 2025
At 4C Group, one of our core values is making a tangible impact in the communities where we live and work. Over the years, we’ve partnered with local charities and businesses whose work upholds the dignity and potential of humanity. Our support for refugee education is an extension of that mission, rooted in the belief that refugees bring unique skills and fresh perspectives that enrich the societies they join.
This World Refugee Day, 4C Group reaffirms its commitment to inclusion, education, and opportunity for all, by supporting the DAFI (Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative) programme. Through our long-term partnership with UNHCR, 4C Group is funding 70 new DAFI university scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year. This vital programme empowers young refugees to access higher education—unlocking pathways to opportunity, stability, and future leadership. The initiative, run globally by UNHCR and supported in the UK by the UK for UNHCR, empowers young refugees to access higher education and transform their futures.
Since 1992, the DAFI programme has supported more than 26,000 refugee students in over 55 countries, covering tuition, living expenses, mentoring, and professional development. This initiative ensures that talented young people are not left behind, allowing them to thrive and give back to their host countries and communities. One of the many remarkable young people benefiting from the DAFI programme is Monicah, a refugee student who, after fleeing her home, is now pursuing a university degree with determination and hope.

“I want to become a change-maker in my community — to be someone who uplifts others like I have been uplifted,” says Monicah.
Her story is one of courage, resilience, and the transformative power of education. Support like these sparks meaningful change – creating a ripple effect that extends through families, communities, and future generations.
We will be sharing more stories like Monicah’s in the upcoming weeks. Meanwhile, please join us to make a difference on this World Refugee Day.
