Green Champion Programme | 4C Group Welcomes its Second Cohort

In July 2023, 4C Group launched the Green Champion programme, reinforcing our commitment to responsible hospitality. We’re thrilled to welcome our latest cohort of seven team members from across the group, selected through a rigorous recruitment and assessment process to champion green initiatives at their respective hotels. 

These seven team members from across the group were carefully selected to represent and champion green initiatives for their hotel property.

Each Green Champion will dedicate one day per week to driving environmental and social improvements within their hotels. Their key responsibilities include: 

  1. Waste reduction 
  2. Sustainable procurement 
  3. Energy efficiency improvement 
  4. Enhanced sustainability communication 
  5. Promotion of environmental responsibility 

The 2024 Green Champion Programme kicked off with a comprehensive induction day, immersing participants in practical training and collaborative sessions on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The day focused on: 

  • Sustainability fundamentals in the hospitality industry 
  • Data analysis workshops to identify areas for improvement 
  • Interactive goal-setting exercises to craft targeted objectives 

This included data analysis workshops, allowing the Champions to gain crucial skills in data gathering and analysis, enabling them to identify key areas for improvement. Interactive goal-setting exercises allowed participants to work in small groups, crafting targeted objectives for their properties and fostering a sense of ownership and ambition. 

This programme represents a significant step in our journey towards more sustainable operations. We’re confident that the Green Champion’s passion and dedication will inspire positive change throughout 4C Group, and we look forward to sharing their successes in the near future.
