Shaping Green Travel – 4C Group Hosts the EEA Sustainability Symposium 2025
20 March 2025
25th February 2025, 4C Group hosted the Energy & Environment Alliance (EEA) Symposium for the fourth time at The Westin London City Hotel. This year marks the fourth anniversary of the alliance, which brought together prominent leaders and delegates focused on transforming hospitality businesses amidst the evolving economic, environmental, social, and governance landscape.

The Leadership and Transformation session was lead by the CEO of 4C Group, Al-karim Nathoo, along with Emma Cherniavsky, CEO of UK UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Giles Clavie, CEO AccorInvest and Professor Marc Lepere, Lead in ESG & Sustainability, King’s Business School. The panel shared insights on transformative leadership and highlighted the crucial role the hospitality industry plays in providing employment opportunities for individuals displaced by challenges such as conflict and environmental crises.

With 75% of refugees residing in countries highly vulnerable to climate-related risks, the urgency for immediate action and sustainable solutions has never been more apparent. It was a strong call for businesses to reflect on how they can support, engage, and employ refugees in meaningful ways. The audiences gained valuable perspectives on the industry’s significant impact.

The People-Centric Hospitality was lead by hospitality leaders who uncovered strategies for driving cultural and organisational change by putting people at the heart of hospitality and sustainability. Soraiya Salemohamed, ESG Director at the 4C Group touched base on the leading transformative sustainability and efficiency strategies and the Green Champion Programe. The discussions and interactions at the Symposium played a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the EEA, its members, and the industry as a whole.

Energy & Environment Alliance offered a series of interconnected and interactive sessions aimed at promoting dialogue, innovation, and actionable strategies. In addition to numerous networking opportunities, each session was designed to combine knowledge – sharing with meaningful connections, ensuring lasting outcomes, insights, and relationships that extend well beyond the event itself.
