Unlocking Potential: Green Champions Graduation Ceremony 2024–2025

3 July 2025

4C Group celebrated the completion and successes of the second cohort of our Green Champion Programme. Our graduates who have been enrolled for 12 months have learnt key skills (including working collaboratively, influencing upwards, decision-making, problem-solving). They also gained insights into responsible business practices and successfully implemented sustainable initiatives across the group – outcomes that are highlighted in our Impact Report 2024/2025.

These Green Champions were the driving force behind our success in being a more responsible business across our hotels. They have worked closely with our guests, team members, and hotel management to bring changes that support greener operations and guest experiences. From reducing waste to conserving water and saving energy, they’ve led by example and helped us build momentum across the group.

A few Highlights from the 2024–2025 Cohort

easyHotel London – Victoria reduced electricity use by 24%, leading the way in our Earth Day challenge.

Recycling rates increased to 55% across all sites – a major milestone in our waste reduction journey.

Westin joined the PLEDGE on Food Waste, tackling food waste with kitchen audits, team engagement, and guest feedback.

All hotels achieved Green Tourism Gold, recognising our commitment to sustainability across the board.

We partnered with the University of Surrey to analyse guest shower usage, helping us better understand water consumption and identify opportunities to conserve.

Meet Our Green Champions

Behind every one of these achievements is a dedicated individual making change happen:

Asina, and Mayruz, Green Champions from Comfort Inn London – Edgware Road, brought energy and enthusiasm to every initiative.

Jekaterina, our Green Champion Lead from The Westin London City, steered the group with thoughtfulness and commitment towards reducing food waste.

Gayatri, Green Champion, The Westin London City, helped embed energy reduction into daily hotel operations.

Chinmay, Green Champion at Holiday Inn London – Camden Lock, championed new ideas and encouraged team-wide involvement.

Suleman, Green Champion from Holiday Inn Express St. Albans, focused on recycling and staff awareness.

Lucyna, Green Champion at Canopy by Hilton London City, helped us think more creatively about guest consumption.

Roxana, Green Champion from easyHotel London Victoria, led the way on energy savings and community projects.

Stanley and Sufyan, Green Champions at Comfort Inn London – Victoria, consistently supported our programme with hands-on action.

What’s Next?

We’re now preparing to welcome our third cohort. This year, we’re evolving the programme by introducing Green Team Specialists and Green Team Leads. Each specialist will focus on a key theme – whether it’s water, waste, energy, or food – and explore how to build and deliver a full business case for a sustainable initiative. The goal is to scale great ideas across all properties and deepen learning through real-world experience.

We’re incredibly proud of what last year’s cohort has achieved and thank them for their impact, which has been felt across the business. As we grow the programme, we look forward to seeing even more of our teams learn about being responsible in business and develop skills that can help them thrive in their career.

Here’s to the future – greener, smarter, and stronger together.
