Caring Beyond the Stay: Holiday Inn Express St. Albans Saddles Up for Gaddesden Place

In December 2024, Holiday Inn Express St Albans had the privilege of hosting the St Albans Postboxes World Record Attempt, a creative community event that brought together residents, artists, and visitors to celebrate craftsmanship and festive spirit. The event featured 102 intricately yarn-decorated post box toppers, successfully securing a Guinness World Record in a newly established category: the largest display of textile post box toppers in a single location.
In recognition of its support, Holiday Inn Express St Albans received a £700 donation from IHG, which the team donated to Gaddesden Place RDA Centre. This local charity aims to enhance the lives of disabled children and adults through horse riding and equine therapies.
The Centre offers participants of all ages the opportunity to engage in horse riding activities that support physical development, including improved muscle tone, balance, and coordination. The therapeutic bond between rider and horse often leads to enhanced confidence, independence, and self-esteem. Through these activities, the centre supports individuals with a broad range of disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, learning difficulties, and sight or hearing impairments.
Holiday Inn Express St Albans was pleased to play a role in an event that not only celebrated creativity and community spirit but also enabled meaningful support for an organisation making a real difference in the lives of local individuals.
